The Saskatoon Branch of
CIM is pleased to announce a scholarship program
that is intended to promote secondary education
of young adults.

Scholarships will be presented
to dependent children of current members and
student members of the Saskatoon Branch of the
CIM (dues of the member need to be paid before
January 31, 2009).
Student members will be
eligible if they have attended at least 3 meetings
prior to January 31st, 2009 [please note: attendance
will be tracked at the registration desk. You
must be punctual for the meeting to sign the
attendance sheet or the meeting will not be
counted towards the 3 needed for eligibility].
Application information
will be emailed out to the CIM distribution
list in January. Applications must be received
prior to February 13th, 2009.
Applicants must be in a program of study of
not less than two years duration that will,
on completion of studies, lead to formal qualification
from a recognized post secondary educational
institution. Graduate students are not eligible.
A Selection Committee appointed
by the Branch Executive Committee will review
all applications and make selections. The Selection
Committee will review the applicants, leadership
qualities, character references, extracurricular
activities, official mark transcripts, the number
and subjects of classes taken, the focus of
the studies in comparison to the needs of the
mining and petroleum industry, etc. It will
be at the discretion of the committee to weigh
all presented factors in selecting the scholarship
recipients.
